All of which means Juventus are on the brink. “Tonight our personality dropped; we took three steps backwards,” Luciano Spalletti said in his post-match media duties. “We failed to grasp the difficulty and danger of what we were doing. If we fall short in terms of our playing quality, we’re always at risk defensively. We’ll try to do a proper analysis ahead of the return match.”Spalletti will have done that now, but it might not be enough. A 3-2 loss in the first leg would have been eminently surmountable, but those last two Galatasaray strikes have put them in a terrific position.
