Each year beneath the vaulted ceilings of Manchester Cathedral, the city gathers to honour 13 soldiers executed for “cowardice” during the First World War - men now recognised as victims of shell shock and post-traumatic stress, and pardoned a century after their deaths. Paul Britton reports.
