She is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and shares the One Battle After Another cast’s nod for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. The star is one of ELLE’s Women in Hollywood this awards season. She spoke in her December 2025/January 2026 interview about the attention she has received coming off of the critically acclaimed film, admitting fame hasn’t been too disruptive…yet.“The biggest shift that I’ve had to adjust to is pretty much just online, social media-wise,” she said. “I don’t get recognized that often in public, normally the giveaway is my hair. Because the way that [my character] Willa wears her hair is a style that I wear my hair in very often, so normally I get recognized when my hair’s like that, and I can kind of be hidden with my hair braided or with my hair in twists.“But throughout filming Presumed Innocent and Paul [Thomas Anderson]’s movie [One Battle After Another], I’ve been so fortunate that I’ve had wonderful guides and mentors in the industry,” she continued. “Whether it be Ruth Negga, Teyana Taylor, or Regina Hall. I’m so grateful to have three incredible mentors in my life, three incredible Black women in Hollywood, who are so incredibly successful in many ways—in career, in life, in love. I’ve gotten so much advice from them about working in the industry and being a Black woman in the industry. Also, I have a wonderful team that is so supportive, so they guide me a lot of the way through this. Because it is so new, and it’s crazy, especially at a scope like this, and truly being thrust into it.”
