Prime Minister Robert Abela has officially launched Malta Vision 2050, a long-term national strategy built around 100 measures aimed at shaping the country over the coming decade and beyond.Announced during an event at Tritons’ Square, the plan sets out a comprehensive roadmap designed to move Malta away from short-term political cycles and towards sustained national planning. Abela described the vision as a collective promise to build a stronger future for current and future generations. The framework is structured around one central mission supported by four pillars, including sustainable economic growth, stronger public services, resilience and education, and smarter use of land and sea resources. While the vision stretches to 2050, the first 10 years will serve as a critical phase, with 100 concrete measures guiding implementation.Six flagship areas have been identified as priorities: transport reform, healthcare strengthening, future-focused education, environmental transformation, the creation of new green spaces, and port regeneration.Progress on the measures will be tracked through a dedicated platform, with the government positioning the initiative as a shift towards long-term planning focused not only on economic growth but also on quality of life and wellbeing.•
