A new University of Texas poll shows U.S. Rep. Hispanic voters were nearly split, with Crockett holding a four-point edge.Crockett recently suggested that Talarico and his supporters did not support her because of racism.She explaiend during a recent interview:The thing that’s not normal is for me too be attacked from the left. John Cornyn were statistically tied.Paxton received 36 percent support, Cornyn 34 percent, with Rep. Wesley Hunt at 26 percent. Neither frontrunner cleared the 50% threshold required to avoid a runoff.That GOP survey sampled 350 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 5.2 points. The broader poll included 1,300 registered voters, with an oversample of verified primary voters.Favorability ratings were mixed. Cornyn and Paxton both had negative net ratings, while Crockett and Talarico posted positive net favorability scores. Hunt also recorded a slightly positive rating.In the open Republican attorney general primary, Congressman Chip Roy led with 40 percent, followed by state Sen. Mayes Middleton at 38 percent.The margin of error for that question was plus or minus 5.7 points.In the Democratic attorney general race, former Galveston mayor Joe Jaworski led state Sen. Nathan Johnson 52 percent to 28 percent.The poll also showed Republicans and Democrats tied at 42% each on the generic congressional ballot.
