Thirteen-year-old Gozitan Gwen Grace Green experienced a night she’ll never forget after being crowned (literally) Best Dressed at a concert by jazz-pop star Laufey in Vienna.A huge jazz fan, Gwen discovered Laufey’s music several years ago and instantly connected with her vintage-inspired sound. The Vienna concert marked the very first time she got to see her favourite artist perform live, and she made sure to do it in style.Together with her mum and with a little help from friends, Gwen designed and created a unique thrifted outfit inspired by Laufey’s album A Matter of Time. Working over a pre-existing dress base, she carefully added stickers and charms to reflect the album’s cover art aesthetic. The look was completed with upcycled elements, including old carnival props and even a corset repurposed from a family friend’s wedding dress. Not stopping there, Gwen and her mum Michelle also crafted matching crowns for the whole family, turning the concert into a fully themed affair. Her brother Will joined in on the fun, and the coordinated effort didn’t go unnoticed.Laufey and her crew reportedly spotted Gwen and Wills early in the evening, their outfits standing out in the crowd. Later, Gwen was crowned Best Dressed by Laufey herself, making what was already a dream trip even more special.Beyond her creativity, Gwen’s story is also one of resilience. She was born with Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (PFFD), a condition that causes one leg to be shorter than the other, and she wears a prosthetic leg. Despite the challenges that can come with the condition, Gwen continues to embrace life with confidence, passion and flair. From Gozo to Vienna, what started as a young jazz fan’s dream to see her idol live turned into a truly lovely experience, one filled with music, family, creativity and a well-deserved spotlight moment.Congrats on your crown Gwen!•
