A nice touch: The knitted cuffs fit smoothly around wrists and neatly under jacket sleeves to keep frigid air out.Earlier this winter, I upgraded my beanie to a sheepskin leather hat that looks like something I imagine my great-grandmother wore in Belarus (in the best way). It is extremely warm, and I’m delighted by the touch of flair it adds to the outerwear uniform I’ve become extremely bored by. This trendy faux-fur bucket hat, beloved by my colleague Sri Rain Stewart, would scratch that same itch.I stand by all of the sweaters I rounded up last year as excellent gifts — especially my beloved Babaa. But I’m also now eyeing this voluminous, extra-warm one that style editor Jen Hunter has been wearing at least three times a week. Says Jen: “The secret about a chunky, soft, oversized sweater like this one is that it’s as easy to wear as a cozy sweatshirt, but looks like you actually tried.”For riding out winter inside: This delightful (if wacky) robe is essentially a knee-length duvet with armholes. It’s cozy in winter and breathable in summer. “I swear I’ve been looking for this bathrobe my entire life,” says Hannah.And finally, more socks, because why not: These (actually affordable) funky house socks were the sleeper hit of gifts writer Samantha Schoech’s white elephant last year, for good reason. They’re incredibly warm and manage to match many aesthetics, from modern and trendy to vintage-chic.
