Earlier this year, Disney filed a permit for a building associated with the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction. Now, construction crews have been spotted working in the area. Here are the latest updates related to the theme park renovation project.A Relic of the PastCredit: DisneyIn 2017, Disneyland Resort shuttered its version of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction and replaced it with Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!. The Marvel Cinematic Universe-themed experience uses the same structure and ride system as its predecessor, but includes new set pieces and scenes starring Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), Drax (Dave Bautista), The Collector (Benicio del Toro), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (voiced by Fred Tatasciore rather than Vin Diesel).The attraction was originally part of Hollywood Land, but eventually joined Avengers Campus when it opened in 2021. But even after all of those transformations, one holdover from the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror remained: the former FastPass kiosk, where guests would use machines to get a paper return time to skip the line for the ride. Weeks later, Disneyland Resort filed a permit to transform the structure into an outdoor eating area. Now, work has finally begun on the building’s transformation.On February 25, WDWNT spotted Disney cast members repainting several sides of the structure. Some of the modifications weren’t visible from above the construction walls, but much of the front side of the kiosk has clearly been painted gray and orange.
