After months of speculation, Earth Garden Festival is officially happening, and organisers say the 2026 edition could be one of the most important in its 19-year history.Set to take place on 29th, 30th and 31st May, the beloved alternative festival is making its return following an unusually quiet lead-up that left many fans wondering whether it would happen at all.The silence, organisers say, wasn’t accidental. Behind the scenes, the team was navigating what they described as one of the toughest periods the global festival industry has faced in years, with rising production costs and major events worldwide scaling back or shutting down.A key reason for the delay was a major venue shift within Ta’ Qali National Park, a move that required months of planning, redesign and logistical work. Festival founder Howard Keith Debono said the decision was taken carefully to preserve the spirit of Earth Garden while elevating the overall experience. For 2026, the festival will still call Ta’ Qali home, but with a twist. This year’s edition is moving into a previously unused wooded area of the park, bringing the event literally under the trees for what organisers describe as the most immersive version yet.The new layout promises a stronger connection between music, art and nature, with deeper integration into the surrounding environment and more cohesive stage design.Camping, long considered a core part of the Earth Garden experience, is also getting a major upgrade. Organisers are introducing a redesigned Camping Village set within the wooded area, complete with shaded chill zones and improved amenities.A traditional Maltese każin will also sit at the heart of the village, reimagined as a communal gathering space aimed at strengthening the festival’s sense of community. With Earth Garden set to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2027, this year’s edition is being positioned as the start of a new chapter for the festival. For now, one thing is clear: Earth Garden is back, and ticket details are expected to be announced soon.Share with someone who never misses Earth Garden!•
