My revised minimum target of 81 points is going out of view for most and even 75, the lowest point of the Table of Doom, after which you get kicked out is coming up soon for some teams. Arsenal had a mixed week, a disastrous draw against Wolves, virtually conceding 4 goals in both matches, one of which might not have been disallowed on another day. 4 goals conceded against teams from the bottom does not suggest everything is perfect but during some of the game against Wolves and quite a lot of the game against Spurs we did play well, with great movement, passes and domination. Are these the bottlers? We are still top, still have the easiest run-in, and still well capable of winning the title. At this point, it doesn’t matter what the chasing pack except City do as the priority now is simple – finish in front of City. The others will not win the title. And it is still only February. Man City the bottlers? City at the Etihad in April is looking like the crucial fixture of the season. We have 4 more matches before then. It is unlikely that we will have a big points cushion at that time but in this league you never know. I don’t see City winning all their matches but if they do they will win the title. I would certainly be worried if City are top by this match. We know what we have to do, win and keep winning. 12 new points by then would give us great confidence and probably have increased our lead over City. And beating them in the League Cup? I don’t see how that will give us much extra as City are at home and will be out for revenge. I believe that the important thing is to win those 12 points before this match. A draw then would be a great result. And keeps our destiny in our own hands. Or are these the bottlers? I want to say one thing, though. If we do finish second again, it is not a disaster and it doesn’t mean Arsenal are bottlers. All teams lose and draw matches they shouldn’t. Second is still a great result and puts us above the bottlers of Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Villa. They won’t even call City bottlers if we win it despite now having it in their own hands. For some reason the only bottlers are Arsenal. And I won’t even mention the Spuds!
