The Nilgiris District Collector, Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, launched ‘Pain-free Nilgiris’ – a district-level pain and palliative care initiative at the Government Lawley Hospital in Coonoor on Saturday (February 28, 2026).Speaking at the event, the Collector said, “In a geographically challenging district — with scattered habitations, hilly terrain, and vulnerable elderly populations — access to long-term pain management and palliative support has often been uneven.
