One UI 8.5 is changing how you access Night and other camera modes

One UI 8.5 brings more noticeable UI changes than One UI 8.0 did, and it debuts with the Galaxy S26 series. In addition to improving 200MP image processing and adding more options to Motion Photo with its new high-end phones, Samsung has simplified the stock Camera app by redesigning how users access Night mode and Dual Recording.One UI 8.5 Camera app makes Dual Recording and Night mode easier to accessSamsung has integrated Night mode directly into Photo mode and Dual Recording into Video mode. These features now appear as toggles within their respective modes. This means you no longer need to swipe to the Modes menu and manually select Night or Dual Recording.In Photo mode, a moon-shaped icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Tapping it reveals three Night mode options: Off, Auto, and Max. The Max option's appearance changes based on the maximum exposure time available at that given time. You can toggle Night mode on or off directly from this menu. Night mode is integrated into Photo mode. Dual rec mode is integrated into Video mode. In Video mode, tapping the Options button reveals additional recording settings. From there, you can enable Dual Recording and choose between two layout options.If you prefer having separate Night and Dual Recording entries in the Modes menu, you can install the Camera Assistant app and enable the toggles for Dual Rec, Night, and Single Take. For now, these updates are exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series.
